Side by Side
Side by Side draws inspiration from everyday urban mobility, transitional spaces, and the idea that “mobility makes place” (Jensen, 2009). It explores how movement through the city can create unexpected encounters and bring people together side by side in unfamiliar settings. Designed for the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale, the installation-Side by Side-offers a spatial intervention within the Arsenale that invites shared experience and collective pause.

2004
Bilsar Store Tunnel
In Tünel, a residential building from the early 20th century was transformed into a company headquarters and showroom. Due to its status as a historical monument, the intervention was limited. The ground floor was designed as a public space with a shop, showroom, and temporary theater, using raw materials to reflect the street’s texture. In contrast, the upper floors—dedicated to the company’s internal functions—featured refined detailing and advanced technologies. Despite its evolving uses, the ground floor consistently functioned as a vibrant public interface.

Bomonti Brewery
The Bomonti Brewery, originally established in 1890 by the Bomonti brothers, was Istanbul's first modern beer factory and a significant industrial heritage site.
